Construction Update - September 2021
Work on site has progressed well over the last few months, with turbine deliveries complete and all 14 turbines now erected, and we would like to thank the local community for their patience which we completed this particularly busy stage of construction.
We have sought to maximise opportunities for inward investment in the local area, wherever possible, and are pleased to confirm that a number of local companies have been engaged for different aspects of the construction works. These include McFadyens Contractors, Peter McKerral & Co. hauliers, G McNaughton & Son and Donald McLean Contractors. We have also been using Campbeltown Job Centre for the recruitment of labour operatives.
The project is now in the final commissioning, testing, and reinstatement phase of work, ahead of starting to generate low carbon electricity in early 2022.
With anything we do we want to ensure the safety of the local community, our contractors and staff. We are continuing to proceed with caution at every stage to ensure we have the appropriate measures in place. We continue to implement our bespoke Covid-19 management plan – with enhanced hygiene measures and social distancing to ensure everyone’s safety.
If you would like to talk us about the remaining construction works or require further information, please feel free to contact us directly.
