RENEWABLES INVESTMENT BOOST WITH CONSENT FOR BLARY HILL WIND FARM

RES has been given planning permission for Blary Hill, a 14 turbine wind farm near Glenbarr, on the Kintyre Peninsula.

RES expects the development will create more than £3.9 million of inward investment for the local economy during the wind farm’s construction and first year of operation. This is in addition to the £6.3 million invested in the local economy by RES in the last 18 months during the construction of Freasdail Wind Farm, near Tarbert.

Simon Peltenburg, Head of Projects - Scotland said: “RES has worked hard to ensure our projects on Kintyre have focused on delivering investment into the local economy and utilised the local supply chain.  We are delighted to have received a positive decision on Blary Hill and look forward maximising the local investment during construction.”
